Why is it important to have a team committed to the ecological transition?

Within organizations, the ecological transition is at work. Processes are changing, and so are work tools. But beyond deciding on change and investing in the means of its implementation, one element is essential to succeed in a sustainable ecological transition in the company: it is a committed team. Why is this so important?

Engaging your team in the transition: why is it important?

The ecological transition is shaking up the business world. Design, production, distribution of a product or service… everything is shaken up. This is a change that is sometimes complex to integrate into the processes and it cannot be done without employees.
Winning the support of employees is therefore an essential condition for effectively implementing the company’s ecological transition.

However, not all employees have the same perception of the ecological transition: some are enthusiastic and convinced, others less so. Let’s also remember that human beings have a “slight” tendency to resist change! So how do you unite a team around this issue?

The No. 1 tool is education. Explaining ecological issues allows employees to understand the coherence and purpose of the actions that will be implemented in the company, whether for the planet or the sustainability of the activity. Understanding is also a powerful driver to encourage them to act, to become agents of change. They will be more likely to get involved in the transition process if they feel they have a critical role to play and are part of the solution.

Another important point is that the ecological transition is an in-depth reform, not a revolution: it is a long-term approach to changing habits in a sustainable way.
When a team is deeply committed and convinced of its action, it can better go the distance and stick together in the difficult stages of the transition. This group cohesion creates a positive dynamic in the company that goes beyond the ecological transition… And a close-knit team is a successful company.
