We’re #hiring a new Senior Mechanical Engineer in London, England.

Mind Partners is a retained Head-Hunting Search firm with offices in Paris and London. We are partnering with Exoes to find their Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in London.

Founded in 2011 Exoes is an international company focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency by reducing the environmental impact for transport. They optimise thermal management systems for international clients.The zero-emission technologies that Exoes focuses on are batteries, hydrogen fuel cells or heat pumps. Exoes carries out battery tests and generate data to increase performance and reduce carbon emissions.

In 2020, Exoes has created a disruptive joint venture with Startec Development. E-Mersiv is a start-up which manufacture and sell very high-performance batteries. They combine Exoes’s expertise in thermal management with Startec’s skills in design of Li-ion batteries packs.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key member of a team responsible for developing the E-MERSIV Battery. You will be involved in the design, development, and Project Management of this huge project.

Project management

• Plan the design team for a project, organise and lead the Design Reviews.
• Ensure that the design work and the supply of components are progressing well, identify issues and report back to the lead manager.

Review and coaching

• Technical review of design deliverables from the CAD Design Department (report, CAD, plan).
• Design reviews and technical arbitration.
• Training of junior mechanical engineers.

Mechanical development

• Develop products according to the specifications / functional analysis, FMEA and risk analysis.
• Design of these products, including 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings.
• Lead the mechanical (RdM, CFD) and thermal simulations of the components and battery systems.
• Choose the manufacturing processes adapted to the quality/cost/deadline requirements.
• Write the specifications for services or outsourced products and monitor subcontracting.
• Define the design justification files (based on test reports, calculations and dimensional chains).
• Participate in supplier and subcontractor monitoring meetings.
• Define the assembly, maintenance and test reports and installation/assembly, use and maintenance manuals.

Simulation & product test interface

• Define the mechanical test protocols for products and for setting up the equipment to achieve this.
• Follow up on the mechanical testing of products.
• Analyze the results obtained and take action to improve the models.

Competitive intelligence

• Analyze the products of the competition (retro engineering).
• Participate in industrialization (pre-production) activities with the different development partners.

Requirements

• 5 years of progressive engineering experience as mechanical engineer.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, development, and delivery, including mechanical architecture design and development.
• Strong experience in project management in an innovative industry
• Mechanical systems schematics design and conception software is mandatory; we use Solidworks and knowledge will be highly desired.
